Marsala as kept a lot of Carthaginian, Roman, Arab and Norman evidences. It is famous in the whole world for its wine, the abundant archaeological findings and the beautiful landscapes. It is also a flourishing business.

Along the mother church can be found the tapestry museum. This museum shows magnificent tapestries of the 16th century Flemish school. These tapestries have been woven in rich wool and silk with bright colours.
Motya is a small island of 45 hectares founded by the Phoenicians in the 8th century BC. It features remains of an ancient civilization.
Motya is located in a strategic position in the Mediterranean Sea so it had to get fortified with walls. But, this wasn't enough and Dionysos of Syracuse razed the island to the ground.

The Salt Road links Trapani to Marsala. It is bordered with windmills still in activity today. The area is surrounded by Mediterranean flora which displays beautiful colours in spring. It is possible to watch the salt collection at various periods of the year.

Marsala wine:

Long vine rows are growing in the countryside and among the ancient bagli. Marsala wine was discovered by John Woodhouse during one of his trips. This wine was sent to English aristocracy who appreciated it. Its taste is fruit like dry and sweet and its colour is warm and amber like. The Marsala is produced in many cellars of the region.
